“Observing problems generated by the human era over the last 50 years has been daunting. Climate change, an obscure thought in the late 1960s, has become an unfolding reality for the planet in the 21st century. Troubled and challenged, I began making art about this cause-and-effect relationship in the 1980s. My first works were temporal in nature and made from grasses, willows and native soils. Formalizing them would take another decade. My earnest attempt to create images of alarming aspects of an accelerating environmental catastrophe are chronicled in depth within the galleries of this website.”
